Projects at TU Delft

My drive to learn in depth the concepts of design and analysis aspects of Mechanical components/systems led me to pursue my post-graduation studies at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Netherlands. Currently I'm in my last phase of masters' thesis.

At TU Delft subjects of continuum mechanics, engineering dynamics and structural optimization caught my attention. Inspired from these subjects and ongoing projects around the university, I did various projects.

Load Estimation and Uncertainty Analysis based on Strain Measurement with Application to Load Sensing Bearing

This is my masters' thesis project. My passion for automotive and mechanics led me to opt for this project. I've got a defence appointment to defend my thesis work on March 31st, 2016.

This project was a part of the course, "Multiphysics Modelling using COMSOL". Coupling between electrical-thermal-mechanical domains is creating a problem for the observation of material at elevated temperature under Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Thus design optimization was done to improve the dynamic microscopy under TEM. Interesting results of this project can be found on the project page.

Street Light Evolution

Most of the time the beauty of engineering component, along with the effort behind designing these components goes unnoticed by people (even engineers). Thus, the Street Light Evolution project aimed to display the beauty of one such component - Streetlights - by displaying them in artistic way during the Amsterdam Light Festival (2014-15).

NUNA 7S - A solar car project

Continuous drive for sustainability is the demand of today's world, especially in automotive sector. Taking this into mind, there are several Solar car challenges are arranged throughout the world. TU Delft's Nuon Solar Team proved to be the best till date in the World Solar Challenge (Australia) so far. After the victory at Australia in 2013, the team decided to participate with the same car at another such challenge - Sasol Solar Challenge (South Africa) in 2014, and once again team conquered all other participants.
